Behold, I will send my messengers and they shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to Her Temple, even the Messengers of the Covenant who ye shall delight in: Behold, they shall come, saith the Lord of Hosts. Malachi 3:1
Drugs and the Search for GOD
Like most of the articles I am inspired to write, "Drugs and the Search for God" doesn't seem to go together.
What is one looking for when they take drugs that put one in an "altered state of mind"? Peace within; a place with no worries or cares, a happy place, a loving place; euphoria; ecstasy (which is a name of one of the drugs - imagine that), jubilation, exhilaration.
At the same time what is one looking for when they search for God? The Kingdom of Heaven; Peace within; euphoria; jubilation’ a place with no worries or cares; a place where one can be “okay” with themselves.
Sadly to say it seems finding Drugs for that Euphoric feeling is much easier to find in our world than finding that same feeling through God, especially on those days of “crucifixion”.
It wasn't until much later in my life that I found the Euphoric feeling could be given by God without the use of really good LSD.
The over powering warm fuzzy that grows in the center of the chest and radiates out, the uncontrollable need to giggle as eyes all glassy welled up in tears while trying to contain that all encompassing happiness so no one will think I'd lost my mind.
The first time this happened I had gone to Bible class at Light Ministries years before I was ordained. It came to me through an energy transference from the Bishop. I was so elated; the best of drugs could never have given me this kind of "high". I laughed and sang and giggled and cried all my way home. Wondering if I had ever gotten stopped by an Officer of the Law how I would explain my condition. "No Sir I am not on any illegal drugs, nor pharmaceuticals. And I have not been drinking. I got a dose of "GOD".
Since than I have had many such experiences with the Euphoric through Christ and God. I've been sitting at my desk, (a 9 to 5 job), keying in invoices when the feeling has come over me. My co-workers felt the radiating of this glowing jubilation and they started smiling. This Exhilarating, this overpowering feeling refused to be contained, which was very clear from my giggling and the tears pouring from my eyes. So I finally had to get up and walk around, stopping in cubbies along the way, putting my hand on the shoulders of the occupants, transferring this LOVE through myself to others. What a wonderful day that was for everybody.
Now the effects of Drugs are temporary; the effects of having God in your heart are forever.
Drugs come with major consequences: loss of health, family, real friends, jobs, freedom and sometimes life. Sometimes having God in your heart you may loose friends; they probably weren't real friends to start with.
Having God in your heart, perfect health may be regained, real friends may be obtained, your Spiritual family grows and there is a Freedom that surpasses anything else I have ever felt in my life.
The choice is always yours. Finding drugs is an easy, temporary
"fix". Isn't your life worth taking that little extra effort to find a permanent
"fix"? It's there, it's IN you, always has been, always will be, just waiting
to be "tapped" into. Instead of being able to saying "I'm stoned" (sounds
like I've just had rocks thrown at me), I'm "baked" (did I just come out of
the oven), I'd rather be saying "I'M TAPPED IN"

Since my Mother died Mother's day has always been hard. I usually send flowers to her grave site. But, never really feeling that a delivery man placing flowers on her grave really gave her the respect and honor she deserves. My belief system also felt that really, that was not the proper way to celebrate her memory and acknowledge the gift I had received from her. So with that in mind I had decided to skip Mother's day this year. I sent my husband to his Mother's using Joseph as an excuse, (Joseph is our 4 year old foster child. Who does at times get rather hyper around strangers. So it was a rather plausible excuse.)
I had decided to transplant plants and spend the day outside away from anything that would remind me of the day. Then the phone rang it was my son as we started to talk his first question was "Are you all right?" Well that's when I realized I could not get away from my feelings and my loneliness. We talked for almost 2 hours and then it was time for me to mourn. Standing at the kitchen sink I cried, all the while Joseph was waiting for his lunch. Finally he came in to see what was taking so long. He looked at me asked for his lunch and went back outside. (This is not normal for him; he usually will not leave without what he is in search of. I took his lunch out to him and that's when he spoke. "Are you crying?" He questioned. "Yes" I replied "Why?" he continued. So I told him "I miss my mommy". Where is she?" Well how do you explain death to a child, and how can you express you feelings and sorrows to a 4 year old in terms that he will understand.
"Well Joseph you know how the judge said you had to live with me for a little bit. Well a bigger judge said my Mommy had to live with him for a long time." "Where is she?" "Far away" "I can take you on my bike" "No sweetheart it's far away much too far to go and visit" just then the tears started to flow. "Are You Crying" "Yes" "With water coming out of your eyes?" "Yes" I said with a smile. (Because just at the moment I felt the touch of an angel on my shoulder. He looked at me, removed my glasses and wiped the tears from my face. Kissed my cheek and smiled.
Now I can celebrate Mother's day. Acknowledging all things my mother had and will teach me. Realizing that it's not the day, nor the flowers or gifts, but the feeling that matters.
Knowing that my mother will always be a part of me, seeing her in my Son, realizing that she will even be a part of Joseph, (who really never knew her). But her belief that people should help each other and that the children should never pay for the sins of their fathers. Her unwavering belief that all children are good. That all they need is time, love and respect. That all you give should be given freely without the expectation of anything in return. That life is for laughing, crying, caring and finally letting go. All this was given to me with a simple wipe of my tears and a kiss on my cheek first by my mother and now by Joseph. The circle continues. Susanna Scarpa
Our Birth is but a sleep and a forgetting. The soul that rises with us, our life's star hath had elsewhere its setting. And cometh from afar; Not in entire forgetfulness and not in utter nakedness, but trailing clouds of glory do we come from God, who is our home. ” William Worsworth
Both the Book of Mormon and the Bible describe how The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost are one. While I was reading the Book of Mormon a specific passage jumped off the page to me. It gave me such a great feeling in my heart that I can not completely describe it. After reading the passage I decided to read deeper into it and found in the Bible a couple of passages that coincide with the Book of Mormon. I hope that you can experience the same heart filled sensation that I have.
Book of Mormon - Nephi 3 11:27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.
Bible - John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
Bible - John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Bible - 1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Bible - John 17:22-23 And the glory which thou gavest me I have
given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou
in me, that they may

STUDY
Contemplation / Meditation
Contemplation: 1. long and attentive consideration or observation of something. 2. concentration of the mind on spiritual matters. Thought, Meditation, Study, Consideration, Deliberation or Reflection. When doing a "search" for meditation and meditate in the King James version of the Bible I found it more to mean "think about".
Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-2, Psalm 19:14, Psalm 63:5-6, Psalm 77:11-12, Psalm 104:33-34, Luke 21:14, 1 Timothy 4:14-15
I want to go deeper than that, for we can "think" about 300+ things a second. Yet that's not really focusing on one thing. Now a day we use the term "meditation" to mean concentrating much deeper than surface issues.
"God's meeting place with man is in the heart, and in a still small voice he speaks; and he who hears is still." Chapter 26 Verse 7 Aquarian Gospel
With all the hustle and bustle going on in our lives how often do we find that "quiet" time. Not free time where we do something besides going to work, like going fishing, or shopping, or even spending that "quality time" with the kids or even quiet enough to read a good book.
The quiet time I am talking about is the space and place in which Jesus frequented, in the mountains (in the highest level of the soul) where he went to talk to God and ask for guidance. Even to the wilderness (the part of the soul that struggles), to work out the material problems, with the help of the Holy Spirit, he is going through with the help of the Holy Spirit.
He did this after he walked away from the crowds and all the noise. He separated himself from the every day commotion.
"It matters not where men abide, on mountain top, in deepest vale, in marts of trade, or in the quiet home; they may at once, at any time, fling wide the door, and find the Silence, find the house of God; it is within the Soul". Chapter 40 Verse 7 Aquarian Gospel
When do you find the time, to take the time, to get quiet, to
go up into the "mountains" or in to the "wilderness"? To have that one on
one with God? He's waiting.

Jesus
describes the Twelve-step program
Chapter
20:12-21 Aquarian Gospel
12 One day as he was bringing forth the tools for work he said,
13 These tools remind me of the ones we handle in the workshop of the mind where things are made of thought and where we build up character.
14 We use the square to measure all our lines, to straighten out the crooked places of the way, and make the corners of our conduct square.
15 We use the compass to draw circles round our passions and desires to keep them in the bounds of righteousness.
16 We use the ax to cut away the knotty, useless and ungainly parts and make the character symmetrical.
17 We use the hammer to drive home the truth, and pound it in until it is a part of every part.
18 We use the plane to smooth the rough, uneven surfaces of joint, and block, and board that go to build the temple for the truth.
19 The chisel, line, that plummet and the saw all have their uses in the workshop of the mind.
20 And then this ladder with its trinity of steps, faith, hope and love; on it we climb up to the dome of purity in life.
21 And on the Twelve-step ladder we ascend until we reach the pinnacle of that which is spent to build -the Temple of Perfected.

Women were given the gifts of nurturing, compassion and healing of the body and soul. Help us pass on this gift.
"Sisters of One Spirit" is a group of women whom send their healing energy to others via "Angel Cards".
How this works: If someone is in need, whether it is of a physical or Spiritual nature, they or a friend of theirs contacts someone in "Sisters of One Spirit". That Sister contacts the other Sisters with the person's name and address. Each "Sister of One Spirit" sends an Angel card of encouragement to the one in need, letting that person know Angels have been sent to them for strength and healing.
This has proved to be a very powerful healing tool, for as the person in need goes to their mail box, daily they will find an Angel sent.
So if you'd like to join us in the sending of Angels or are or know a person in need of the Healing power of Angels, please email herbalhealer@creativeoddities.com or creativeoddities@hotmail.com or write to Rev. Rhonda @ 1891516th Ave NE., Shoreline, WA 98155
There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
The passages I have chosen for this are about Relationships. Here are some that have helped me through life. Hopefully they will be of help to you.
Love -
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record
of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices
whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always
hopeful, and endures through every circumstance……. There are three
things that will endure- faith, hope and love- and the greatest of these is
love. 1Corithians 13: 4-7, 13
Friends -
Whoever walks with the wise will become wise; whoever walks with fools will
suffer harm. Proverbs 13:2
Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression
on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don’t
think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what
they are doing.
Philippians 2: 3-4
Worry -
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to
you. 1Peter 5:7
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you. Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord our God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:3-4
Low Self-Esteem So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
Temptation -
But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different
from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation
from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. When you
are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give into it.
Corinthians 10:13
Since he himself has gone through suffering and temptation,
he is able to help us when we are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18

The Chariots of God is the term used for the angels or hosts of
angels, as found in the Book of Psalms (68):
“With mighty charity {Chariots of God} twice ten thousands, thousands
upon thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the holy places.” The image
of angels as chariots was first used by the Hebrews in a more specific sense
for the angelic order of ophanim. These angels are equated with the cherubim
in later hierarchies of angels; the name chariot was probably derived from the
description of the cherubin by some account as wheels. Throughout the Old Testament
they are described as the bearers of God’s throne or his chariot. The
latter image forms an important element of the obscure mystical society among
the Jews called Merkabah (meaning “Chariot”). Flourishing from the
first century A.D., the Merkabah sought to use esoteric magical incantations
or rites to ascend the seven heavens (called hekhalots). In the highest heaven
was to be the Throne of God, resting upon a truly magnificent chariot. Rev.

I know there is One Power in the Universe and in My Life. The Power of One, the Omnipresent, All Powerful Source.
I know fully that I am one with this Power, the One Almighty source of all and always have been and always will be.
I call on the Power of One, the law of the Universe to remove all my fears, all impurities and imperfections of mind and
body from this Temple that houses the "I am" that "I am", to remove the veil of illusion so that I may step into the Light of Truth.
I open myself fully to the Divine Life Force as it flows throughout this Temple renewing every cell in every organ.
I completely
accept the restoration to wholeness, oneness and the Perfection of the Universe.
I thank God, the Almighty Source for the Ultimate Reality of the Truth of Health.
So Mote it Be. Rev. LaPierre
James 1:5-8
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men literally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like
a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Translation:
5 If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly
tell you, for He is always ready to give bountiful supply of wisdom to all
who ask Him; He will not resent it.
6 But when you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to tell you, for
a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and
tossed by the wind;
7, 8 And every decision you then make will be uncertain, as you turn first
this way, and then that. If you don’t ask with faith, don’t expect
the Lord to give you any solid answer.
James 1:26-27
If any man among you seems to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but
deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit
the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted
from the world.
Translation:
26 Anyone who says he is a Christian but doesn’t control his sharp tongue
is just fooling himself, and his religion isn’t worth much.
27 The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father’s
point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and whose
soul remains true to the Lord- not soiled and dirtied by its contacts with
the world.
James 2: 22-24
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made
perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and
it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
God.
24 Ye see them how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Translation:
22 You see, he was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever
God told him to; his faith was made complete by what he did, by his actions,
his good deeds.
23 And so it happened just as the scriptures say, that Abraham trusted God,
and the Lord declared him good in God’s sight, and he was even called
“the Friend of God”.
24 So you see, a man is saved by what he does, as well as by what he does,
as well as by what he believes.
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead
also.
Translation:
26 Just as the body is dead when there is no spirit in it, so faith is dead
if it is not the kind that results in good deeds.
James 2:18
Yes, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without
thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Translation:
18 But someone may well argue, “You say that the way to God id by faith
alone, plus nothing; well, I say that good works are important too, for without
good works you can’t prove whether you have faith or not; but anyone can
see that I have faith by the way I act”.

Summer Solstice falls on June 20, 21, or 22 depending on the calendar, when the sun is at 1 degree Cancer. Counter part to Yule and Christmas, this celebration as at least 10,000 years old. It’s theme, the decent of the Sun, is depicted by the Greek story of Persephone, and of the Egyptian story of Isis and Osiris. If one looks close one can also find the similarities in the story of Jesus’ journey to Death before his Resurrection. The allegory of the Light conquering the Darkness is a familiar one.
These parables symbolize our journey into ourselves in effort to see our inner being clearly and change the things about ourselves that no longer work for us or are not favorable to our growth and maturity. Like Spring cleaning of the houses we live in, this time is a cleaning out of our being to become a better person.
Picture all bad habits and negative baggage in boxes we’ve been storing and carrying around with us for years. Well, this is the time to go through all those boxes and start throwing away any part of us that is not beneficial. We may be surprised to find positive traits and talents we forgot about hiding under that thick layer of dust.
So the Summer Solstice Festival is a of celebration of our renewal
as we bask in the Light of the Sun/Son.
