Behold, I will send my messengers and they shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek shall suddenly come to Her Temple, even the Messengers of the Covenant who ye shall delight in: Behold, they shall come, saith the Lord of Hosts. Malachi 3:1

Comparative Study

In the beginning of this year I was blessed with the chance to run a series of classes in Rockledge, FL on what has become to be known as the “Be Attitudes”, of the book of St. Matthew, Chapter 5:1-12.

As we went through piece by piece, we found that not all of the writers of the First Four Books of the New Testament mention these. Out of the nine sayings starting with “Blessed are. . .”, of Matthew, Luke was the only other one and he only commented specifically on three. There are other “Blessed are” saying here and there, I counted 23, there may be more.

The interesting part of the class was the depth that it took going over the different trains of thought these writers were in when these were written down. Matthew being a man of wealth and of learned wisdom, a faithful servant of Caesar & Tax Collector, Luke saw things through the eyes of a Physician, Isaiah, a Prophet.

Than by chance or by the Divine I found a version that came from the Original Semitic terminology underlying the Greek version of Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. So we did an experiment and called it –

Blessed are = Walk Forth Experiment

It seemed to me that the “Blessed are” in Matthew’s writings may have been translated in error in so far as that they imply a kind of passive consolation in the face of tribulations. Instead of the invitations that they are in the Greek version of Mary for us to Stand Up, to rise and WALK FORTH no matter what pain and trouble your going threw or that may lie on the road ahead.

Here’s an example:

Matthew 5:3, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Luke 6:20, And he lifted up his eyes on his Disciples and said, Blessed are ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Psalms 41:1, Blessed is he that considereth the poor, the Lord will deliver him in times of trouble.

See, these all say something a little different from each other yet using most of the same words. Between poor in Spirit, being poor, or considering the poor, nothing said here made me wanna get up and dance.

So here’s the Greek version of the same scripture. (Blessed are being translated as Walk Forth).

Walk Forth, you in whom the Breath (Spirit) is held back and restrained by emotions and by fear.”

There’s at least some instruction here for us to follow. In this light, we, “poor in Spirit” are invited to “Walk Forth” through those “troubles” of our own “perceptions”, (fears and emotions). In doing so we will certainly find the “kingdom of heaven”, be Masters of Ourselves.

As my research continued I found another version of what we call the “Be Attitudes” in the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ.

Worthy are the strong in spirit; theirs the kingdom is.”

Ah, now we’re getting somewhere. Those that are strong in Spirit/Will and have the courage to work/Walk forth through their fears and misperceptions are Worthy of the kingdom to be theirs/ to be Master of Self.

Peace Profound,

The Symbol used in the last Newsletter is called the Cross-of Lorraine. The smaller bar on the top represents the scroll that was inscribed with INRI on the top of Jesus’ cross proclaiming him the King of the Jews.

The AVM glyph bears many meanings, from “Ave Millennium “ to “Thy Kingdom Come”.
The internal M may stand for Ave Maria, or the Magdal-eder herself for the continuation of the Line of David and Tribe of Benjamin. A deeper meaning of the V and it’s opposite, that of an A without the

crossing line, is that of the archetypal feminine symbol, the Chalice, and that of the archetypal of the masculine, the (tip of a), Blade. The Millennial promise being that when these two aspects become in harmony together than Harmony will be restored in Heaven and be reflected here on Earth.

Autumn/Fall Equinox

Many Celebrations are coming our way between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice.

A lot of areas have started the process of harvest, which usually begins August 1st, known as the Lammas Festival. Tradition says there were three stages of harvest the first being one of grains, the second one of fruits and veges, with the final harvest during the Autumn Equinox. (Other names for this time of year: Alban, Elued, Mean Fomhair.)

With the increase of technology in agriculture many areas have combined the second and third harvest into the Autumn Equinox being the one of completion. This being preparation for the long winter ahead with the shortening of days and elongation of nights. All in all the date associated with this time period falls between September 20 – 23, depending on the calendar, when the sun is 1 degree Libra.

This is the time set aside for the Celebration of Thanksgiving and to glorify the Great Earth Mother for everything she has given to our children throughout the year. For she is the base component from which everything material is comprised.

As we gather with friends and family to share what we have harvested or bought we

strengthen our spirits to endure the passage of winter.

So the Festival of the Autumn Equinox is not just a Celebration of Thanksgiving for what we have received, it is also one of Thanks knowing, in Pure Faith, that Spring will assuredly come.

Mabon Invocation

Mabon brings the scent of autumn Golden glow and sun’s soft kiss. Magick swirls and eddies onward Season’s end demands all this.

The wheel is turning, ever forward Calling for your act of closure, Fill the cauldron, light the fire Cast the magick ever higher! Find the laughter, make ye merry Touch the heartbeat of our Mother.

Libra brings an air of beauty
Gracing all with harvest Love
Listen closely wisdom’s duty
Look within to find the door.

(repeat second stanza)

The fruits are heavy on the trees Yellow, gold, and orange leaves Nature’s show of alchemy Ever clear to you and me.

Drinking From the Saucer

I have never made a fortune, and I'll never make one now,
But it really doesn't matter 'cause I'm happy anyhow.
As I go along my journey, I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I am drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.
I don't have a lot of riches, and sometimes the going's tough,
And since I've friends to love me,
I think I'm rich enough.
I'll just thank God for all the blessings that His mercy has bestowed.
I'm drinking from the saucer 'cause the cup has overflowed.
If God gives me strength and courage when the way seems steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings. I'm already blessed enough.
May I never be too busy to bear another's load. then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

I Asked . . . .

I asked God to grant me patience, God said No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations, it isn’t granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said , No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. I asked God to make my Spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I asked God to help me LOVE other, as much as He loves me. God said, Ahhh, finally you have the idea. Author Unknown

Happy Happenings

Darreyl Wright, son of Rev LaPierre and Dianna Wright, church secretary and daughter of Lorraine and Blaine Wright, entered the Joy of Holy Matrimony, June 26 in North Jay, Maine.

I have to live with myself and so, I want to be fit for myself to know.
I want to be able as days go by, always to look myself straight in the eye.
I don’t want to stand with the setting Sun. And hate myself for the things I’ve done.
I don’t want to keep on a closet self alot of secrets about myself.
And fool myself as I come and go, into thinking that nobody else will know,
The kind of person I really am. I don’t want to dress myself in shame.
I want to go out with my head erect. I want to deserve all people’s respect.
But here in the struggle for fame and pelf. I want to be able to be myself.
I don’t want to think as I come and go, That I’m bluster & bluff & empty show.
I never can hide myself from me, I see what others may never see.
I know what others may never know I can fool myself and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be Self-respecting and conscience free

Psalm 121

1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.
2. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.
3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5. The Lord is thy keeper; the Lord is they shade upon thy right hand.
6. The sun shall not smite thee by day nor the moon by night.
7. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy Soul.
8. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even for evermore.

This Psalm reminds me of a story I was told not too long ago. It’s about a farmer who went looking for a hired hand. Out of all the men he questioned one answer stuck in his mind. “I can sleep during a storm.” Dwelling on this for many days the farmer, intrigued to the meaning of this, the farmer hired the man. One night the farmer woke up in midst of a terrible storm. He franticly jumped out of bed and ran to the bunkhouse. To his distress he could not wake up the hired hand. In total panic the farmer ran to the fields, and barns just to find them battened down and secure. With a big sigh of relief the farmer finally understood the new hired hand’s reply – “I can sleep during a storm”.

Samhain

Also known as the Celtic New Year, All Hallows Eve and Hallowmas, falls between October 1st and November 4th when the Sun is at 15 degrees Scorpio. We are more familiar with the term, Halloween and celebrate it on October 31st.

When I was growing up in central Maine, our costumes were made up from a discarded clothing box that had been collecting for decades for this very occasion and carried pillow cases for treat bags. After the sun went down we walked around town knocking on every door along the way.

Now costumes, whether scary, heavenly, fantasy, current cartoon characters or the movie rage of the day are bought in stores. No longer created from imagination, due to lack of time?, or lack of tradition, lack of God. Nor do we let our children go from door to door for fear of strangers. (for we no longer know our neighbors). Once again due to the lack of God in our lives??!! Instead we herd them to the malls. Things sure have changed.

In Celtic tradition, Samhain, being their new Year, celebrated the Beginning and Ending of all things, the Cycle of Life, (regeneration) and Death (transformation). We see evidence of the workings of this law/cycle as we watch the landscape around us. The trees come ablaze with color as they and other plants mature and throw their seeds for a new generation of growth.

This powerful time of year is also known to be the time when the gate between the physical world and the spirit world is wide open. With the merging of these two worlds, communication with the spirits of the dead whom roam freely on earth is easiest now than any other time of the year.

This is the time to pay respect to those who have gone before us. A perfect time to call on transitioned elders for guidance and any warnings there may be for the coming year.

On a personal lever, Samhain is a fire festival signifying a time for closures. To rebuild what is needed (within the personality), and to get rid of what is not needed or beneficial. So, open your inner closets people, it's time for Fall Cleaning.

World Peace Conference

WOW! What an event! Four thousand +- people converged June 28th – July 4th at the Rosicrucian English Grand Lodge in San Jose, CA. Wall to Wall Mystics, the energy was incredible!!!!! Grand Masters from the French Language Jurisdiction, Portuguese, Nordic, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Scandinavian, Asian, and English were there representing their large districts far and near. To name a few more, the Middle-East, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Africa, North and South America, Canada and many more. Fratres and Sorores of all colors, shapes and sizes joined energies of Peace that was sent out to encompass the whole world in which we live. So much Positive vibrations that I don’t think my feet ever touched the ground.

Lectures given by the Grand Masters were held in the Imperial & Regency Ballrooms of the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose. Titles included; "Facing the Master within", "Our relationship with the Cosmic", "Our Oneness" and "Unity".

Between lectures a walking tour of the Rosicrucian Park was available. The Park covers one complete block holding the Admin building, the Ahknaton Shire, the Egyptian Museum, Francis Bacon Auditorium, the Rose-Croix University, Research Library, the Peace Garden and of course the Grand Temple, (replica of the Grand Temple of Hathor in Dendua, Egypt).

I spent time in the Egyptian Museum and bookstore, (lots of time in the bookstore). I would have liked to have spent more time in the Research Library going over ancient books from Greece & Egypt. Yet Courtesy and consideration prevailed for 4000+- people also wanted time to look.

The Planetarium gave an awesome presentation on the "Mithraic Mysteries." An ancient culture that understood the "changing of Ages" much better than we do today.

The grounds surrounding the buildings making up the Rosicrucian Park was/is as inspiring as much as it is beautiful creating a serene and harmonious ambiance. Plants from around the world were strategically placed and labeled to follow the self-Guided Tour booklet. Bunya-Bunya trees from New Guinea, Tasmanian Tree Ferns, Dawn Redwood from China thought long to be extinct, Irish Yew trees and good old Sugar Maples.

My favorite tree was the Elephant Palm, which was not in the Guide booklet.

Statues were every where amongst the unique foliage. Two sphinxes flank the University, one containing the 15 Mystical Principles considered most important to the Rosicrucians. Two more Sphinxes are near the Planetarium. Ram-Headed sphinxes guard the Museum entrance.

A Mother & Child statue glistens in the sun entitled "Coming and Going", depicting a dying mother who ahs given birth to a child, symbolizing Life and Death, the continuous ebb and flow of the creative cosmic continuum.

These are only a few of the many statues and memorials about the Park.

I feel so blessed to have been able to join such people in this massive undertaking – World Peace. We all talk about Peace. We put bumper stickers on our cars saying, “God Bless America”, which makes me wonder why we our leaving the rest of the World out of the Blessing. Why don’t we have bumper stickers that say “God Bless the World”?

Question: If 4000+- people from around the World can get together in Harmony and Peace, why can’t we get along in smaller scales? In our homes, neighborhoods, towns, cities, States, with other countries.

Contribution to Peace

I contribute to Peace when I strive to express the best of myself in my contacts with others.
I contribute to Peace when I use my intelligence and my abilities to serve the Good.
I contribute to Peace when I feel compassion toward all those who suffer. I contribute to Peace when I look upon all as my brothers and sisters regardless of race, culture or religion.
I contribute to Peace when I rejoice over the happiness of others and pray for their well-being.
I contribute to Peace when I listen with tolerance to opinions that differ from mine or even oppose them.
I contribute to Peace when I resort to dialogue rather than force to settle any conflict.
I contribute to Peace when I respect Nature and preserve it for generations to come.
I contribute to Peace when I do not seek to impose my conception of God upon others.
I contribute to Peace when I make Peace the foundation of my ideals and philosophy. So Mote it Be!

On the Road to “Find Out”

“Go out from your country and from your kindred and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you.”
Genesis 12:1

Have you ever gotten an urge or a feeling you were supposed to be doing something and you didn’t know what it was? The more you ignored the urge the stronger it got? Happens to me more often than not. When I ignore the urge, (since it is not telling me what it wants), usually things start “not going so well”.

I had just gotten back from Maine and knew, at least for now, that Maine wasn’t where I was going. Though the part of my heart that holds my son, daughter in-law and grandson was left there when I returned. While in Maine I had high hopes I would get a sign telling me, “It is now time for you to return”. But the “warm fuzzy” feeling of acknowledgement was not there. So I returned to Florida a little heavy hearted. Still the urge to get moving was there, stronger than ever, but with no answers to what or to where.

Then I flew to San Jose, CA to the Rosicrucian, AMORC (Ancient Mystical Order of the Rosae Crucis), World Peace Convention. After a week of classes and being with others of like mind, I returned home with a fully energized spirit and fed Soul. Yet again, no answer to the inner urge to get moving was given.

After a while, when totally frustrated cause nothing seemed to be working out to be beneficial, I throw up my hands saying. “Okay God, what do you want me to do cause I just ain’t getting it.” Before I knew it all my things are in boxes, packed on a truck and heading down “the Road to Find Out”.

To Where? That part was still unclear. All I knew was that everything I had become familiar with, friends, family, church, spiritual advisors, and study partners, and herbal co-spiriters were in my rear view mirror.

“The Road to Find Out” is a very interesting Road. It takes you to places you’ve never been or knew existed.

I found wide-open spaces once off the coast. Doesn’t matter if one is on the north, south, east or west coast, once away from it there is living space. After leaving the cities limits there is cleaner air to breathe. And with that Breath a new perception of the day.

“On the Road to Find Out” there are people I’d never met, yet once I had, I found they were just like me. Each one on their own special road.

“On the Road to Find Out” God brings you to places and people that need you. In one sate we stopped and helped a dog to transition across after he had been critically injured by a passing truck or car. In another state we bandaged up a man at a rest stop that had been hit on his motorcycle He traveled with us the rest of the day. In another state help was brought to me, water for the dog and even a bone or two.

“On the Road to Find Out” no matter where one goes one can always find food and medicine that God has provided for us. Pick a plant here pick a plant there and before you know it – supper is in the pot over an open fire.

“On the Road to Find Out” there is a Silence, a Profound Peace that can not be found on any other road. For on this road God does all the driving. So you can sit back an bask in all His/Her Glory.

“On the Road to Find Out” beauty is everywhere, from the rolling fields of wheat to the towering majesty of Mt. Shasta. Not to leave out the awe inspiring devastation of a two mile circular area of lava with one Joshua Tree growing in the center.

“On the Road to Find Out” there are many things to learn and experience. Not all “Roads to Find Out” are paved with asphalt. Some wind in and around books, some come from or through other people. Where is your “Road to Find Out”? Are you on it? Or are you standing on the side watching it go by?
